The discussion of perfection is one of the fundamental issues of various sciences. The main issue of this article is what is the nature of perfection from Al-Farabi's perspective? A descriptive and analytical method was used to solve this issue, and the most important findings of this research are that Al-Farabi did not provide a substantive definition of perfection, and what he meant by perfection is that it is not flawed. He believes that there is a relationship between perfection, happiness, pleasure, and goodness; that is, all good and happiness for humans are considered a kind of perfection, and at least some pleasures are perfection. In other words, although these words are different in terms of concepts, they are at least in some instances common. According to Al-Farabi, perfection is a questionable matter and has different levels. By considering beings, we find that God is at the highest level and material beings are at the lowest level of perfection. This philosopher has proposed three criteria - active reason, happiness in reaching the presence of God - as criteria for absolute perfection in his various works. These three criteria do not prevent the combination of them, but there is a possibility of combining these three criteria. He also proposes perfection regarding the essence, attributes, and actions of God and provides evidence for his claim.
