Abstract

Jamal School is one of the valuable scientific and mystical schools in Islamic culture, which Iranian mystics raised Islamic mysticism with the arrival of Islamic ideas in Iran. In the ontology of the Jamal school, beauty is praised and introduced to achieve true and divine love. Nowadays, mysticism and the thoughts of its schools have become distressed and forgotten. In the past, Iranian architecture was created based on cultural concepts, and culture was also influenced by architecture; In mystical works, architectural elements are expressed beautifully. Therefore, it is necessary not to forget mystical thoughts and to preserve the relationship between cultural concepts and architecture. The aim of the current research is, first, to know the characteristics and components of the Jamal school, specify the architectural components based on it, and then analyze these components in historical and religious buildings. Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque was interpreted as one of the valuable examples of Islamic architecture. The results showed that in the school of Jamal, Sama, it is necessary to move away from the physical dimension and reach spirituality and think in beauty, and beauty is ultimately there to reach divine love. Also, the components of the Jamal school are completely present in the Sheikh Lotfollah mosque, and this mosque can be considered one of the symbols of the Jamal school.
